The recipe for this wonderful product has been handed down from generation to generation. The name "Intorchiate" translates into "twisted". This “twist” is made to resemble "a hug". Not surprisingly, these treats were offered in ancient times at baptisms and weddings to signify the union of God to the child and the groom to the bride.
