Aneletti are one of the most characteristic recipes of western Sicily. Its shape originates from the timbales the Moors introduced to the island during the ninth century. Formerly limited to traditional Sunday diners & Holiday meals in Palermo, but now becoming popular Worldwide! There are many variations, but it is usually prepared with a meat sauce, ham, eggplant, peas, breadcrumbs, Primo Sale Cheese & then baked. It must, however, contain Anelletti the famous ring-shaped pasta as its main ingredient.
